The range of activities available in the region is limitless and the suggestions barely scratch the surface, however they are there to give you a start and let you dream of some of the ways you might want to spend your holiday. Local Events 2007/8; 4-9 September . World Championship Mountain Biking at Fort William. This is at the ski centre Anoch Mor, a massive spectacular event - we'll be going ourselves. You are advised to book tickets in advance (£38 for a family), and consider cycling from Fort William for 6 miles along the new bike track, or taking a shuttle bus. Usually first week in July (whole week), also one performance in Corran Hall in Oban (01631 567 333). Barbara goes to this every year and it is always stunning.
