Self Catering Holiday Cottages

There are six holiday cottages and two self catering apartments available for let throughout the year at Bonawe House. The two elegant apartments are part of the main house. The six cottages are set around a sunny courtyard to the rear of the main house. They are furnished mainly in pine, fully carpeted and have original Scottish paintings and direct access to the gardens. All our accommodation has a dishwasher, cosy living flame fire in each livingroom and a bath and shower. There is free Wifi access in our reception and in most of the cottages (Clematis, Hydrangea and Edwardian struggle in particular). The superking beds can be separated into singles on request.

Rose Cottage. 2 people, 1 King size A bright detached ground floor cottage, without steps inside. Rose has an open plan kitchen and living room with large picture windows.	Clematis Cottage. 2 person,1 superking sized bed A cosy ground floor cottage with bags of character. Clematis has an open plan kitchen and living room, with views through the trees over the loch.	Garden Cottage. 4 person,1 superking sized bed,1 twin A cosy ground floor cottage with a separate kitchen and living room. The three foot thick walls give extra character.	Holly Cottage. 4 person,1 double bed,1 bunk room Holly has an airy open plan kitchen and living room on the ground floor, the bedrooms are upstairs.

Honeysuckle Cottage. 4 people, 1super kingbed, 1 twin bedroom A particularly spacious first floor cottage with separate entrance overlooking the formal gardens. Honeysuckle has a large farmhouse kitchen/ dining area and a separate living room.	Hydrangea Cottage. 5 people, 1 king bed, 1 full size bunk bedroom, 1 single bedroom A cheerful detached ground floor cottage. The kitchen and spacious living room are open plan. No steps inside.	Etive View. 6 people, 1 super king bed, 2 twin bedrooms Situated on the second floor of main house. The kitchen and living room are separate. Very spacious with stunning views across Loch Etive.	The Edwardian Wing. 4 people, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom Downstairs it has a magnificent large oak panelled drawing room with piano, kitchen/dining room and a separate toilet. The upstairs has two bedrooms with stunning views across the Loch. The master bedroom is exceptionally grand and gracious. The bathroom has a traditional bath with shower, underfloor heating and a 'loo with a view'. Furnished throughout with period furniture and decor appropriate to a property of this splendour.

All cottages have:

Living room
Large colour TV (usually we have 4 channels), most have teletext access, DVD player that can play most music CDs. All livingrooms have a cosy livingflame fireplace, a selection of games and books. A 'freeplay' torch and radio that are powered by winding them up.

Kitchen
Dishwasher, under worktop fridge with freezer compartment, electric cooker, extractor, oven with grill, toaster, kettle, microwave. Crockery and cutlery for the number of people in each cottage. Pans and other cooking utensils. Teapot and cafetiere. Iron and ironing board. Drying rack (airer), vacuum cleaner and sweeping brush.

Bathrooms
Bath with shower over the bath. The Etive shower is an electric shower, all other showers are gravity fed from the hot tank. The Rose shower is a power shower. Toilet, sink with light and shaver socket. Most bathrooms have an electric towel heater. The Edwardian, Etive, Honeysuckle and Hydrangea bathrooms have tiles with underfloor heating, all other bathrooms have a linoleum floor.

Bedrooms
All mattresses were changed in 2008. We have a variety of sleeping arrangements. The single beds are all 1.90m (6ft 3") long and 90 cm wide (3ft). The double beds are 1.90 m long (6'3") and 1.35 m wide. The king beds are 2.00m long and 1.50m wide. The super king sized are 2 singles linked together, so 1.90m long by 1.80m wide. All single beds have a single duvet cover of 2m long by 1.35m wide. The doubles, king and super king all have superking sized duvets which are 2.20m long by 2.60m wide. All beds have a13 tog duvet, and extra blanket per person and electric blanket (except for the bunk beds).

Heating
All cottages have at least one storage heater and there is an instant convector heater for each room.

Outside
There are plenty of tables and chairs around the cottages and in the grounds to enable guests to make the most of the beautiful surroundings.

What is provided
We provide the following 'consumables': Washing up liquid, dishwasher powder (without phosphates), washing up brush, dishcloths. Liquid soaps by washbasins. Toilet roll and bin bags. We provide Ecover and other 'green products' and re-fill all the bottles, recycled toilet paper and recycled bin bags. We will leave behind in cottages any oil, pepper and salt that have been left by previous guests.

Reception Area
Within our communal Reception Area guests have access to: Extensive DVD library with 100+ titles, Resource books and walks with some local maps (not OS maps), games (such as monopoly and cluedo) and Scottish Jigsaws. Coin phone. Upright Dyson vacuum cleaners. Converter socket for European guests. Hairdryer. Wifi access from reception and some cottages.
We will do any washing and drying for £4 (double a normal washing machine load).

Recycling
Unusual for our area is that we have separated rubbish collection for 3 different colours of glass and paper. We also have our own compost bin for fruit and vegetable waste that you can use.

Allergies
We can accommodate anyone with allergies and asthma, and ensure there is no perfumed products in your cottage (all our products are green, but some still have perfumes), just let us know how we can help. Also using ultra sensitive washing powder for sheets etc.
